 In addition, there were plenty having issues with smart meters. This technology is meant to help people track their energy usage to keep on top of spending, if it doesn’t work then it is useless and may even see users overspending on energy.

 The Bad – 3-Star Reviews 

 Price increases from the majority of poor reviews, however, price rises have been seen across the whole energy market. Maybe Co-op Energy has risen more than others, but we will look at other areas they are poor in.

 For the bad, Co-op Energy seems to make things extremely hard for customers to understand. Lots of people are having difficulty with understanding figures and making things clear.

 One person saw their current tariff ending, however, the reminder e-mail wasn’t clear enough, leading to troubles. Others found the information given out by Co-op Energy needed to be short and simple, rather than overcomplicating details, as well as lengthy statements wasting time.

 Also, there was no way of finding out what the current variable rate was, so it was impossible to judge whether it was worth switching to a fixed tariff. Again, during these critical times, this is unacceptable.

 The Good – 5 – Star Reviews

And finally, let’s look at the good. There was a common trend amongst the positive reviews. This was Octopus Energy. With links to one of the biggest energy firms, Co-op Energy linking with Octopus Energy seems to be a hit.

 Octopus Energy scored highly in our review, with great customer service, working easy, fast and friendly, customers are kept pretty happy.

 Unfortunately for Co-op Energy, the overriding issues are keeping customers unhappy and no matter how good the customer service is, these problems seem to persist.

 Smart meter troubles, confusing information, difficulty when using the company. The list goes on. Luckily, there are companies out there learning from these failures and that’s where we come in.
