 Starting with the worst of the worst, Utility Warehouse have some bad ratings that we have dissected from our research, but what exactly are they doing wrong?

 So, to begin, let’s talk about the most common complaint coming from Utility Warehouse customers. The main issue is the waiting times to speak to the customer service team.

 Customers are constantly stuck on the phone with no one answering, waiting for long stretches of time to just get through to someone.

 One review, in particular, spoke about having to wait for 42 minutes after being passed through 4 different departments to finally get in touch with the correct advisor.

 Another example was a customer waiting for 30 minutes, then a further half an hour until they eventually were cut off once they were close to finally giving payment details. We can’t imagine how frustrating that must have been.

 In addition to the long waiting times, smart meter problems seem to be another common fault for Utility Warehouse. Customers who actually end up getting through to an advisor are told their meter isn’t communicating with the server, which the supplier already knew about without anyone letting the customer know.

 They are then advised an engineer would be needed to come out but they had “no appointments anytime soon”. That is… if you get a smart meter installed.

 After promising quick installation of smart meters, one customer has been waiting a year and still no sign of it. Luckily, our team are experienced and will install a smart meter without stress or long waiting times.

The Bad – 3-Star Reviews 

 When it comes to the bad, things seem to stay the same at Utility Warehouse. Again, customers are complaining about horrendous waiting times and smart meter woes, however, some other troubles arose. Let’s take a look.

 Some customers mentioned that the system the energy supplier uses is confusing. During an energy crisis, systems should be clear and simple to use to help customers manage this stressful time.

 It must be overwhelming to have confusing information, then try to call up to ask for help and have to wait for ages to speak to someone.

 The confusion didn’t end there, as one customer stated they had to keep asking more questions as well as checking for clarification to get a clear and complete answer.

And finally, let’s look at the good. With almost 24,000 reviews, 66% of customers gave Utility Warehouse the top score available, so a solid number of the reviews were good.

 There were a lot of customers that were happy with the customer service… once they were finally able to get in touch that is. The staff seem to be helpful and patient, with customers getting issues resolved.

 Plenty of individual customer service members were given shout-outs from customers who were happy with the service provided. They seem understanding, polite and helpful. However, with so many complaints about long waiting times, is a good service worth the wait?
